Our Fall season opens with solo shows

from Paul Greco and Cecily Spitzer.

In Symbology", Greco embarks on a new series of Space Craft Fragment paintings.  First begun in 1993, his newer paintings continue to make use of found metal as a substrate for imaginative views of the symbolic universe, nature and the extra-terrestrial.

With "Faces of Nature" Spitzer moves more deeply into the realm of of seeing nature as a humanizing force.  Her palette never fails to delight, and the almost musical movement of her forms remains as intensely satisfying as ever.

Please join us for the opening reception for Greco and Spitzer on Sunday, September 11th, 2-5pm.

With Symbology, Greco embarks on a second series of Space Craft Fragment (SCF) paintings.  These found objects are pieces of metal that come to him synchronistically.  Greco says "I love the way nature has twisted, flattened and rusted the metal into unique one-of-a-kind shapes that become my canvas.

"I had no idea when I created my first "SCF" in 1993 that I would continue to make them and the off-shoot projects some 23 years later."

Cecily A.  Spitzer

Faces of Nature

"My work is a response to nature and to art.

I take all of the elements of the landscape; flowers, trees, clouds and also the human body and make new configurations out of them. The changing light and colors of the seasons come into play as well.".

In her most recent work, Spitzer continues to explore the natural world and the eye's instinct to animate the world around us with human form and gesture.
